Purpose

The Sustainable Destination Committee of the San Diego Green Building Council seeks to be a catalyst for transformation of the regional tourism and hospitality industries through the way buildings and organizations are designed, built and operated.

By encouraging environmentally and socially
responsible, prosperous growth of our region we aim to improve quality of life, resources and guest experience.

The San Diego visitor industry is the third largest industry in San Diego County, creating over 150,000 jobs and $16 billion in economic impact for the region.

We want to encourage San Diego tourism industry stakeholders to join us and work together towards the sustainable future of our region by creating a networking, education and information exchange platform: a social hub for like-minded individuals and organizations providing:

Key Committee Initiatives

    Educational events and opportunities

    Technical guidance and support

    Informational resources

This group participates in local, grassroots events and plans several local events geared around this topic.
