Purpose
The Advocacy Committee is responsible for promoting awareness and provides support for green buildings to local governments, institutions, public and private sector entities and the general public; maintains a database of local government activities and initiatives; and assists in and encourages the adoption of LEED by local governments, institutions, public and private sector entities, as well as the general public.

Participation
If you would like to get more information on the Advocacy Committee, start by filling out the following interest form.  In order to most effectively perform the tasks of the committee, each committee member will be assigned according to the following key components:

1. Competency/expertise areas – what are they best at that aligns with key advocacy tasks?
2. Passion areas – what things are they most interested and motivated to intervene on?
3. Locality areas – where do they work or reside such that they can focus efforts there?

Locality is defined according to four San Diego County Quadrants: 


NW - North of CA-52 and West of I-15
NE - North of CA-52 and East of I-15
SW - South of CA-52 and West of I-15
SE - South of CA-52 and East of I-15
