The Membership Committee is responsible for implementing activities that aid in recruitment and retention of USGBC members and for orienting new members to the activities of our Chapter. To that end, its this committee’s task to create diversity, educate and inform our local community in hopes that you will join us in this very important journey of creating a healthier sustainable environment for not only ourselves, but for future generations to come.

BECOMING A MEMBER
Membership in the U.S. Green Building Council is available in two categories:

San Diego Chapter Member
("People" are chapter members, not companies). Anyone can join the USGBC San Diego Chapter at one of three levels:

1)  Regular Chapter Membership, Total Due: $65
2)  30% USGBC Member* Discount ($19.50 savings), Total Due: $45.50
     (for individuals employed by USGBC national member organizations)
3)  60% Full-time Student Discount ($39.00 savings), Total due: $26.00
     (full-time students only; students may be asked to verify status at any time)

*Is your organization or company a USGBC Member? USGBC national membership is for organizations, and all full-time employees of national member companies may utilize their organizations’ national member benefits. Each USGBC member organization receives a unique corporate ID number that identifies the organization as a member. This number allows employees of member organization to access national member benefits and discounts on our Web site. Being an employee of a national member company DOES NOT automatically make you a Chapter Member.

Benefits: Chapter members will receive a fixed 30% discounts for members to events such as Green Meets and Study Sessions, Listing in the Chapter Membership Directory, participation on Chapter committees and task forces, a FREE subscription to the San Diego Business Journal, and a "Certificate of Membership".

National Corporate Member
("Companies" are national corporate members, not people). All employees, owners, and partners of a national corporate member firm can set up an account on the USGBC website using their email address, password, and corporate ID number (the company’s primary contact person has this number).
