Programs Committee Purpose
The Program Committee is a group of individuals
who are eager to raise awareness
and educate the San Diego Region of sustainable
design and development. The
programs committee exists for the benefit of the
community and therefore does not
run on an individual basis. Collaboration
between our chairs and coordinators is
essential in our success. Always looking for
another volunteer to make us stronger,
please review our responsibilities and join us
at one of our next committee meetings.
Description
The Program Committee is responsible for
planning and conducting informational
and educational programs for Chapter members and
other interested parties. Programs
and events are intended to serve both an
educational and a promotional or
membership development purpose. The Committee
works to insure that its planned
programs and events reflect the mission and
current goals and objectives of the
Chapter.
The Program Committee will conduct research and
gather necessary information
for the development of programs and events. The
Committee will identify funding
needs, develop specific program budgets and work
with the finance committee to
secure funding and/or underwriting for existing
and new programming efforts. Members
of the committee will seek out and recruit
advisors or presenters for specific
programming efforts. When appropriate the
committee will work to establish task
groups for specific programming efforts. The
Committee will schedule Programs,
secure host facilities, and provide all required
organizational logistics. The Committee
will conduct an evaluation effort following each
program to assist the Chapter in
determining the effectiveness of that program
and use the results to help prioritize
future planning efforts.
