CLEANING INNOVATIONS |  9:30 AM 

Green cleaning is not a new topic, but it is a way of cleaning that is becoming less trendy and more of the norm, especially for educational & government facilities. Steve Ashkin from The Ashkin Group will examine new green cleaning technologies that businesses can implement in order to conserve water & energy resources. He will also review what’s going on with the green cleaning credits in the new LEED V4 Green Building Rating System, the benefits of microfiber, third-party ecolabel certifications and a spotlight on new cleaning products & innovations such as cleaning with engineered water.

CITY OF SAN DIEGO: WATER CONSERVATION |  10:30 AM 

The severity of the drought in California, and in much of the Western United States, has been in the news quite often of late & water conservation has become more important than ever. Chris Robbins from the City of San Diego will be discussing ways that a business can reduce their water usage (including restroom fixtures & landscaping water saving tools), as well as various rebates and incentives that are available.

SMART HOME TOURS  |  12:00 PM 

A special feature of the Energy Innovation Center is a model Smart Home which showcases sustainability, energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies that you can implement today for more sustainable living solutions. Sign up for one of three brief yet informative tours of the Smart Home directly after lunch. After the tour be sure to check out the other features of the Center including the  interactive displays and the water-wise walkway.
