April GreenMEET: Introduction to the WELL Building Standard

Please join us for our April GreenMEET at the BNIM-San Diego office, for a presentation on health & wellness in the built environment. This session will introduce the basics of the WELL building standard, including examples of key strategies in practice.

The WELL Building Standard is a new rating system, focused on the intersection between design and occupant health, co-administered by the International Well Building Institute (IWBI) and GBCI. The standard defines metrics based on the body's systems, and the impacts of intentional design on our wellbeing and productivity.

Participants will have a chance to explore design examples, and hear about a research partnership between BNIM and the Salk Institute.

Registration opens at 5:30pm, presentation to begin at 6:30pm.

Speakers:

  • Ravi Bajaj, LEED AP BD+C, O+M, ID+C (San Diego Green Building Council)
  • Elif Tinney, IIDA, LEED AP (BNIM)

Continuing Education: This session will be eligible for one hour of  "General" GBCI credential maintenance, to be reported under "Education" activity type, and one hour of AIA continuing education units.

Parking: Please note that there is free street parking after 6pm on J street, and a paid parking lot on Island and 7th.
