The state of sustainable landscapes in California is changing.  Presenters will discuss the influences on our perception of what is sustainable and the triggers for change toward more sustainable landscapes.

 

Case study examples of pilot projects for the new Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES) will be presented.  SITES is a rating system designed to establish and encourage sustainable practices in landscape design, construction, operations, and maintenance.

 

This session will be of interest to green building leaders who want understand the benefits of sustainable landscapes: design professionals, building owners, government, advocates of sustainable design, developers, LEED professionals, especially those involved with site selection and landscape water conservation credits.
