Chula Vista Smart Growth Workshop

At this workshop we will  review the LEED for Neighborhood Design (ND) rating system, which combines the principles of Smart Growth, New Urbanism, social equity, and green construction into a system that fosters sustainable neighborhood development.

Two development sites within the Chula Vista community will be analyzed in terms of the LEED ND Smart Growth principles and scored using LEED ND criteria.  Recommendations from the workshop can help guide development of livable, sustainable and vital places.

Developers, designers, & City staff are encouraged to attend

"The LEED ND system promotes green economic development and research indicates that green neighborhoods produce more business opportunities, jobs, household savings, and fiscal benefits than conventional development. "

This assistance is being provided by Smart Growth America with grant support from US EPA's Office of Sustainable Communities under their Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities Program
