Work with the USGBC-SD Board, Executive Director Gary Goodson and EGB Co-Chair Christian Dick (Swinerton Management & Consulting-Green Consulting Practice) to advocate for USGBC initiatives to student and young professional populations across San Diego.
Duties include:
-Organize and run EGB's two main annual events: 1. Natural Design Competition and 2. Sustainability Panel
-Organize and run campus branches (UCSD, USD, SDSU and community colleges) of EGB; work with existing sustainability student groups to advance their goals
-Participate in the USGBC-SD Steering Committee on a monthly basis
-Maintain EGB website
-Maintain and expand a comprehensive contact database of all green groups across all San Diego Regional Universities, Community Colleges and Trade Schools as well as allied groups (e.g.. ULI, ASID, Green Drinks)
-Prepare and document Emerging Green Builders Committee reports
-Implement USGBC National Initiatives
Candidate benefits:

Candidate should have:
-A passion for sustainability/green building as demonstrated through academic curriculum, professional pedigree, non-profit involvement or other means
-Completed a minimum of two years of college (graduate level is ideal)
Position will commence January 1, 2010. We will hold interviews with selected applicants by appointment. We expect the work to take approximately 5 hours per week.
